Chemical Peel

Renew. Resurface. Reveal.

Skin doesn’t just sit on the surface it lives there, breathes there, ages there. A professional chemical peel works with your skin’s biology, not against it, to clear what’s built up, awaken what’s been dormant, and reveal the clearer, brighter, more even skin that’s been waiting underneath all along.

— About This Treatment

What Actually HappensDuring a Chemical Peel?

The name can feel a little clinical even slightly alarming if you’re not sure what to expect. But a chemical peel, especially at the SkinCeuticals gel peel level we offer at Amorim Clinic, is far gentler and more sophisticated than it sounds. It’s not about peeling skin away in dramatic sheets. It’s about chemistry: carefully selected acids and active ingredients working at a cellular level to accelerate the natural processes your skin is always doing just faster, and more effectively.

Your skin is constantly renewing itself. Old, dead cells shed from the surface every 28 to 40 days, making way for fresh new cells below. The problem is that this cycle slows as we age, and congested, sun-damaged or acne-prone skin often can’t complete it efficiently. Dead cells linger. Pores clog. Pigmentation settles. Texture becomes uneven. A professional peel essentially presses fast-forward on that process dissolving the bonds that hold dead cells together and prompting a surge of collagen production in the deeper layers.

“Every peel I perform starts with a conversation about your skin what it’s been through, what it needs, and what you want to see in the mirror. The science does the work; the skill is knowing which science to choose.”

SkinCeuticals gel peels are formulated to very high clinical standards the same brand trusted by dermatologists in over 80 countries. They combine multiple active acids with antioxidant support, which means they’re highly effective while remaining appropriate for a range of skin types and sensitivities. Victor selects and blends your peel formulation based on a full skin assessment, ensuring every treatment is genuinely customised rather than one-size-fits-all.

Courses are where the real transformation happens. A single session delivers a noticeable result, but it’s the cumulative effect of three or six treatments each building on the last that produces the genuinely transformative skin quality our clients come back for.

What a SkinCeuticals Peel Treats

Skin Texture & Enlarged Pores

Chemical exfoliation dissolves surface debris and excess sebum that clogs pores, visibly refining texture and minimising pore appearance over a course of treatments.

Acne & Breakouts

Acids like salicylic and glycolic penetrate the follicle to clear congestion, reduce bacterial load, and prevent the chain reaction that causes persistent breakouts.

Pigmentation & Sun Damage

Active acids inhibit melanin production while accelerating the shedding of pigmented surface cells systematically lifting dark spots, melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Fine Lines & Early Ageing

By stimulating collagen synthesis in the dermis and accelerating surface renewal, peels smooth superficial lines and restore a plumper, firmer surface quality over time.

Dullness & Uneven Tone

Dead cell accumulation is the primary cause of a dull, tired complexion. A single peel treatment restores an immediate brightness and evenness that few other treatments can match as quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chemical peels have a reputation that doesn’t always match reality these are the questions Victor hears most often, answered as plainly and honestly as possible.

Still have questions?

Victor will assess your skin, explain exactly which peel is right for you, and answer any questions without obligation or pressure.

Is it going to look dramatic? Will people notice I've had something done?
The SkinCeuticals gel peels we use are classified as superficial-to-medium depth, which means any peeling or shedding is subtle rather than dramatic. You won’t be hiding indoors. Some clients experience very mild flaking around day 3–5; others notice nothing external at all and simply see brighter, clearer skin emerge. Most people find they can return to work the following day. If you have an important event, scheduling your peel 10–14 days before gives your skin time to reveal its full result.
The sensation during application is typically a mild warming or tingling the kind you might associate with a strong serum. Some clients describe a brief stinging at the start of application that passes within a minute or two as the skin adjusts. It is not painful, and Victor monitors your comfort throughout, adjusting as needed. After the peel is neutralised, most clients describe their skin as feeling tight and slightly sensitive similar to a day in the sun, but without the sun damage.
A single session produces a genuinely noticeable result brighter, smoother skin that shows up immediately after recovery. But a single peel is one cycle of renewal. For lasting improvement to texture, pigmentation, acne or ageing the kind of result that other people notice a course of three is the minimum we’d recommend. A course of six produces cumulative collagen remodelling and skin quality improvement that a single session simply cannot match. Think of it less like a treatment and more like a programme.
Yes but with careful selection. Darker skin tones contain more active melanocytes, which means some acid types carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation if used incorrectly. Victor is trained in selecting appropriate formulations and concentrations for all Fitzpatrick skin types. The Acne Control and Pigmentation Peels are often particularly effective for clients with Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin. This will always be discussed in full during your consultation.
Absolutely and for many clients, combining treatments produces the most comprehensive results. Chemical peels pair particularly well with Profhilo Skin Boosters (which improve the quality of the skin from within while peels improve it from the surface), Microneedling (for enhanced collagen stimulation), and Polynucleotide injections. With injectable treatments like anti-wrinkle and fillers, we space them appropriately typically allowing two weeks between treatments to let each do its work without interference. Victor will always recommend a sequencing plan that makes sense for your skin.
